Safety
Warranty
Nissan’s powertrain warranty covers the Z 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than BMW covers the 4 Series Coupe. There are over 3 times as many Nissan dealers as there are BMW dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Z’s warranty.

The Z has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The 4 Series Coupe doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.
Suspension and Handling
The Z NISMO handles at 1.02 G’s, while the M440i xDrive Coupe pulls only .91 G’s of cornering force in a Car and Driver skidpad test.

Passenger Space
The Z has .2 inches more front headroom and 1.1 inches more front legroom than the 4 Series Coupe.

The Z Manual can be flat towed on all four wheels (dinghy towed), allowing recreational vehicle owners to bring it with them on the road. When they reach their destination, the Z can be unhitched and driven around locally. The 4 Series Coupe can’t be towed flat on the ground.
Ergonomics
The Z’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them. BMW does not offer a locking feature on the 4 Series Coupe’s standard power windows.
The Z’s standard Intelligent Key allow you to unlock the doors from either outside door handle and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Comfort Go standard on the 4 Series Coupe only offers hands-free access for the ignition, none to unlock the car.
Economic Advantages
The Z will cost the buyer less in the long run because of its superior resale value. The IntelliChoice estimates that the Z will retain 58.37% to 60.28% of its original price after five years, while the 4 Series Coupe only retains 54.42% to 55.97%.
